We’re excited to share that Voyado is thrilled to announce that Jimmy, Oliver and Carl are forming a brand-new team within the Voyado Engage Product Organisation and they’re now looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help shape the future of our Wallet offering.

Voyado’s Wallet connects payment identification and loyalty in one seamless flow, making it easier for retailers to recognize customers in-store and link physical interactions to digital loyalty.

With Wallet, members identify themselves with a simple tap, view rewards and loyalty status directly in their mobile wallet, and receive relevant updates in real time, creating a frictionless bridge between in-store and digital experiences.

About the role:

As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and evolving Voyado’s Wallet platform. You’ll work hands-on with code while also taking responsibility for understanding the broader system landscape and integrations.

The role combines practical engineering with system-level thinking. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and customer-facing teams to ensure we build scalable, reliable solutions that work across many retailers and real-world environments.

You’ll be one of the first engineers in this new team — acting as a technical backbone and knowledge carrier, enabling others and shaping how we build and evolve this product area going forward.

Some things you'll be up to

• Writing and maintaining production code in a modern backend stack (TypeScript, Node.js, GCP)

• Building and evolving integrations and solutions across many retailers and tenants

• Shaping the technical foundation for a new team and product area

• Collaborating closely with product to translate real customer needs into technical solutions

So, who are you?

You’re a experienced, hands on software engineer who enjoys both coding and understanding how things work end-to-end. You don't need to be an expert in every tool we use, what matters more is your ability to reason about systems, write solid code and adapt to new domains.

We believe you'll bring:

• Strong backend experience. We use Node.js and TypeScript today, but we value system understanding and adaptability over specific technologies

• Experience working with integrations, API's and distributed systems.

• Have worked with wallets, payments, fintech or retail systems (big plus)

• Understand Apple Wallet/Google Wallet concepts, payments flows or terminal side integrations (also a big plus)

• A problem-solving mindset

• A self driven approach, clear communication and a strong sense of ownership.

• A strong product and user mindset.
