You'll be joining  the Message Services team, part of the Engage product- a highly skilled and collaborative team of developers in Norrköping. The scale of what we do is exciting, from sending 1.4 billion emails in a single month to architecting solutions that truly matter to end users (sometimes even life-critical).

About the role

As an empowered, cross-functional team, we own the development, maintenance, and operations of the message engine within the Engage platform. We handle all outbound messaging across the channels we offer, currently including email and SMS, with more to come.

Our mission? To deliver personal messages on time, track delivery status and user behavior, and ensure that our systems scale smoothly as our customer base grows. This team plays a vital role in enabling seamless, high volume communication between brands and their customers. 

Some examples of your daily work will be:

• Expanding and optimizing our message services to handle large volumes and scale across different markets.

• Daily tasks include monitoring, attending daily synch with the team, meetings with other teams, when necessary, (development in pair or individually working on a new feature or maintenance identified by the team)

• Contributing to troubleshooting in the event of a system failure

• Working across the entire stack, from Aurelia views to heavy-duty SQL storage.

• Monitoring system performance and proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks before they become problems.

We work closely with the Outbound team in a tightly knit, agile setup, where MVP thinking and iterative deliveries are key. Expect fast feedback loops, empowered ownership, and doors that are always open, literally and culturally.

Who you are

To thrive in this role, you’re someone who loves a complex challenge and doesn’t wait around to be told what to do. You’re curious, driven, and solution-oriented, someone who rolls up their sleeves, digs into legacy systems, and comes out the other side with better performance and cleaner code. You see opportunities where others see roadblocks and bring thoughtful input to design and implementation discussions.

You don't need to come from a specific tech stack, what matters most is that you understand event-driven systems and how to build solutions that scale and perform under real-world load. In our teams, we primarily code in C# and SQL, but we value solid engineering fundamentals, curiosity and adaptability over exact tooling.

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just write code, but someone who designs solid, scalable solutions. You understand trade-offs, especially when it comes to performance vs. cost, and you have an eye on the future.

You have some of the following skills and experiences:

• Working with SQL databases (e.g., MSSQL or PostgreSQL)

• Experience with Azure (or other cloud providers)

• Familiar with large-scale systems and the performance challenges they come with

• Bonus points for experience with SaaS platforms, messaging systems, or platform teams
