Retail media is the biggest digital trend since the appearance of social media. It's all about leveraging customer data and digital platforms to offer targeted advertising opportunities within the retail environment, directly influencing consumer purchasing decisions at the point of sale. It represents a blend of e-commerce and advertising, where retailers monetize their online and physical spaces by enabling brands to reach shoppers more effectively. Of course, this is something we at Voyado want to offer our customers such as XXL, Apoteket Hjärtat, and Kicks.

This role isn't just about coding though; it's about shaping the future of retail media. As one of the earliest members of our new Ad Experience team, you'll become a cornerstone in the initiative and have the rare opportunity to be involved in the early stages and throughout the entire development process.

About the Role and day-to-day

This is still quite a new team and area at Voyado. We've created and delivered a POC and are ready to make it production-ready! As the third person joining our Ad Experience team, your weeks are versatile. Whiteboard sessions, close collaboration with partner integrators, and tech discoveries to figure out what it is we should be focusing on and you'll be working on e.g. on architecture, writing code, and working with integrations to bring the team's ideas to life. You and the team will have to focus on developing and delivering the best experiences for our users. We do not strive to push out features as fast as possible but balance delivery with beta testing and user expectations.

Some of the things you'd be up to:

• Mentor and support team members
• Contribute to design discussions, and architectural decisions and make sure our solution is built using best practices
• Ensure the project process and facilitate dialogues with our partners
• And of course, development! ☕️

And when the time comes when you need a break why don't you go and play games in our relaxation area like some pool, or ping pong or why not challenge our Åre office in Call of Duty on our PlayStation 5? 🎮

So, who are you?

You have a genuine interest in tech, you're motivated by the unknown, and you navigate in a landscape with partners, tech, and dialogues with design and product management with excellence to drive the project forward. We believe important skills to thrive in this new team are fearlessness when it comes to navigating the unknown, great communication skills, and a liking for taking responsibility for progress!

Besides those personal skills, we believe you have some of the following:

• Strong knowledge of Java, gained in a professional setting ☕️
• Basic cloud knowledge. We use AWS, but Azure or GCP is also OK ☁️
• Previous experience of taking lead in development projects
• A college degree or bachelor's degree in computer science or something similar, or a comparable industry career.
• and most importantly, passion for what you do
