Join our newly formed Discovery Agent Experience team and work closely with skilled developers in building the next-generation search experience within Voyado Product Discovery.

We already have a powerful and proven search engine. Now, we are adding an intelligent layer on top, an AI Product Discovery Agent for Search that transforms how users interact with products, navigation, and intent. As this is a new team, you will be part of shaping our ways of working, defining our architecture, and setting the technical roadmap for how AI agents should integrate with and enhance our search platform.

Our mission is to build intelligent agents that orchestrate search recommendations and navigation, interpret user intent, and create a completely new discovery interface experience.

About the Role and day-to-day

This role sits at the intersection of backend development, AI engineering, and product innovation. The team is in an early phase, as is the technology, and besides design and development your work will touch commercial aspects like product-market-fit and go-to-market planning.

You'll work with hands-on development; including designing and orchestrating AI agents, refining prompts, and optimizing structured outputs to deliver high-quality, reliable results. You’ll also build smart integrations between LLMs and our search engine.

Together with the team you'll own the technical roadmap and architectural decisions, proactively prototype new ideas, and evaluate emerging AI technologies to ensure we stay at the forefront of innovation. Some things will vary depending on product needs and experiments, but some things are constant:

Some of the things you and the team will be up to:

Design and build AI agents for search and product discovery, using Java and/or Python.
Map agent logic towards our existing search infrastructure
Optimize for latency, scalability, and cost-efficiency (LLM usage, orchestration, caching, etc.)
Evaluate new technologies in a rapidly evolving AI landscape
Design and implement APIs
Continuously improve response times and reduce inference costs to create scalable and efficient solutions

So, who are you?

You don’t just follow AI trends, you actively build with them. Agentic coding is already a natural part of how you develop software, and collaborating with LLMs feels as intuitive as writing code yourself. Writing prompts to generate, refactor, and reason about code is a natural extension of your engineering workflow.

At the same time, your interest goes beyond just experimenting as you thrive on building real products. You enjoy turning ideas into robust, production-ready systems and combining AI-native development patterns with solid software engineering principles.

And since this is a newly formed team, you’re excited not only to build the product but also to shape how we build it, driving evaluation frameworks, testing strategies for LLM-based systems, and establishing pragmatic, high-quality ways of working for AI-driven development.

Besides those personal skills, we believe you have the following:

Master of Science in Engineering (MScEng) in Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering Physics, Engineering Mathematics, or similar.
Excellent programming skills and a strong understanding of data structures
Familiarity with concurrent programming
A solid understanding of fundamental algorithms
Practical experience working with LLMs and AI APIs, either in hobby projects or in your work
Experience or strong interest in prompt engineering and agent design
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
An understanding of performance optimization and cost-aware system design

And most importantly, passion for what you do, innovation & continuous improvement. If you are interested in algorithmic problem-solving, that's meritorious.
